Jeffrey Birkemeier, Sommelier

Jeffrey Birkemeier is an Advanced Sommelier and hospitality operator based in Salinas, California. He is the co-owner of Amapola Kitchen and Wine Merchant, a wine-driven restaurant, retail shop, and events space focused on thoughtful hospitality, education, and community. Jeffrey previously held senior wine leadership roles with the Pebble Beach Company, where he helped shape wine programs within one of the most respected luxury hospitality destinations in the world.

Prior to Pebble Beach, he served as Beverage Director at Casanova Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, where the wine program was recognized as a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Wine Program. Jeffrey is honored to serve as Lead Sommelier for Pebble Beach Food & Wine, bringing together his experience in fine dining, large-scale events, and wine education.
