Eric Ripert's love of creating works of culinary art began during his childhood in the Provence district of France. After an apprenticeship in the prestigious restaurant, La Tour D'Argent, he moved on to Jamin, the famed Michelin three-star restaurant. In 1989, Eric arrived in the United States and worked with Jean-Louis Palladin at his restaurant, Jean-Louis, at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. Eric is Executive Chef at Le Bernardin in New York City. In 1998, Eric was named "Best Chef in New York," and along with owner Maguy Le Coze, Le Bernardin won the "Outstanding Restaurant" award from The James Beard Foundation.
